Our members are not just customers, but owners of the Credit Union. In fact, member ownership is one of the key differences between credit unions and other financial institutions. Unlike banks, which exist solely to earn a profit at the expense of their customers, our purpose is to make our members as financially successful as possible!
The Credit Union pays operating expenses and sets aside reserves to ensure financial soundness. Excess earnings are then returned to members as competitive dividend rates on savings, lower rates on loans, additional services or bonus dividends.
Credit unions operate democratically. As a member, you’re a part owner and entitled to vote in the election of our Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. These elected volunteers represent you in the oversight and governance of your credit union.
