Each year, the Credit Union awards a scholarship to a college-bound member. High school seniors have the chance to write an essay on a topic provided by the Credit Union, and then are judged anonymously by a panel of volunteers. Over the years, the Credit Union has helped more than 16 of its young members get an education.
The Kansas City Police CARE Team was started in 1992 and has helped hundreds of Officers and their families. For many years, the Public Safety Credit Union has been one of the largest supporters of the annual CARE team golf tournament.
Local police agencies support the Special Olympics Missouri with events like the Polar Plunge, Broadway Bridge Run, and Torch Run. Your Credit Union supports and participates in these events as well, raising more than $145,000 for Special Olympics Missouri over the last several years. For several years, the Credit Union has been the highest fundraising Polar Plunge team in KC!
The Public Safety Credit Union is a major supporter of the “Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment (SAFE),” a program managed by the KC Crime Commission that provides support to the families of law enforcement, fire fighters and EMS workers that perish in the line of duty. The Credit Union has supported the Guns n’ Hoses boxing event, SAFE golf tournament and Border Shootout, all benefiting SAFE.
